I would like to thank each and every one of you who came to our February meeting last Saturday at Buffalo's Restaurant in Cumming Georgia. I must say as I entered the sectioned off area for our chapter in the restaurant I had a wonderful surprise! We had a total of 27 Members and Family in attendance. After some great fellowship and catching up among our BK brothers and sisters Randy H said the blessing and we enjoyed a wonderful meal.
After everyone had eaten, the meeting was called to order and business items were discussed. We began the meeting by welcoming our newest member Ron Simmons who is with the Forsyth Co. Sheriff's Dept. It is great to see our Blue Knight Family grow with new members. I hope this trend continues in order to make a "great" club even greater!
Our next nursing home charity drive will be next month at Cumming Nursing Center, 2775 Castleberry Rd. Cumming Ga. Please bring any items you would like to donate to our March meeting location to be delivered to the Nursing Center. I will send out a list of items that can be donated. Our last Charity Drive to Chestnut Ridge Nursing Home in December was a great success, so let's all pull together to make this one just as successful!
Our next order of business discussed was future club rides for 2021. At last months meeting members presented a list of spring and summer rides for the upcoming riding season. Some were day rides while others were over night rides. All of which were great rides to be considered! We will start announcing the rides in a few short weeks as riding weather
roll back in!
I have been in touch with Mike Shockley with BK Ga. XI who has informed me that both the Blue Knights On The Dragon ride and the 2021 Fall SRC Conference that were canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic are now "back on" for 2021. Dates and information TBA.
Matt H. was kind enough to suggest a meeting/cookout at his home. As you remember the last one at Matt's home was a great success, everyone enjoyed the fellowship, food and the guys really enjoyed the target practice at Matt's firing range. I can't think of a better way to start off the 2021 riding season for our club than this!
We then voted on the location for our March Meeting to be at the Hi-Tops Sports Bar, formally Butts and Barley BBQ Restaurant located at 11474 Cumming Hwy. Canton Ga. Next order of business was the 50/50 drawing which collected $124.00 in which David R. was the winner. David donated a portion of his winnings back to the general fund. Congratulations and thanks David!
The meeting was adjourned and we all went our separate ways! Until next time!
